BANKFOOT CHURCH RE-OPENING

Following on from the Scottish Government’s announcement that places of worship may re-open the Kirk Session are working towards re-opening Bankfoot Church and Church Centre as soon as possible.

You will understand that there are numerous inspections and procedures to be undertaken before Perth Presbytery is in a position to agree to our re-opening.  There will also be a need to implement physical measures, such as improved signage, before re-opening can be agreed.  These tasks are underway and will be completed as soon as possible.

A definite date cannot be given at present, but it is hoped that the Church Centre will be open in the first half of August.  A further update will be posted when more definitive information is available.

In the absence of a parish minister any pastoral concerns are being addressed, mainly by phone calls or internet chats, by the Interim Moderator Rev Jim Stewart or his assistant Rev Anne Findlay.  They can be contacted on 01738-624167 or email diamondboy09@yahoo.com.

Our contact details

Dear Friends,

My name is the Rev Jim Stewart from Letham St Mark’s, Perth and I am your interim moderator during your vacancy. I have been at Letham for 23 years and have many connections with your parishes, people and area. It is a beautiful part of rural Perthshire with many fine cycling routes, beauty spots and landmarks. Over these next months we will prayerful work together to find the minister who is called to be your next pastor.  In the meantime I and my assistant the Rev Anne Findlay will provide pastoral cover for you. These are strange days because of COVID-19 and therefore we Will not appoint a locus minister until the restrictions are lifted a little further. Most of our pastoral work will be by phone calls and internet chats until such times as home visits etc are permissible. If we can help in any way then please call 01738 624167 or email diamondboy09@yahoo.com

Yours faithfully

Rev Jim Stewart
