Did you know that there is a daycare service based in the Church Centre in Bankfoot and another at the Tryst Centre in Pitlochry?

These services are run by Crossreach. Anyone who has had a social work assessment and is over 60 is eligible to apply to attend. Clients take part in various activities throughout the day depending on their interests. Favourites include arts and crafts, quizzes and board games. Everyone enjoys chatting and sharing stories with the other clients and staff. We have recently purchased and installed a 1950’s living room reminiscence pod complete with music and television from the 50’s. Everyone is enjoying this. It’s bringing back many happy memories to share.

A two-course lunch is prepared by our cook and costs £5 per session. The day lasts from 9am until 4pm and transport to and from home can often be arranged. If you or a family member would be interested in attending please contact us to have a chat and come and see our facilities.

Crossreach also runs a care at home service. This service provides personal and social care to enable individuals to live as comfortably as possible in their own homes. Homecare is available mainly in the Bankfoot, Pitlochry and Aberfeldy areas but other areas within Highland Perthshire may also be possible. Please contact us if you would like more information.

There are a variety of options for funding daycare and homecare services. These include council purchase, private purchase, self directed support and carer’s respite vouchers (vouchers can only be used for our homecare service). The day care service gives carers a chance to catch up at home or have a day out while their loved one is also having a relaxing and enjoyable time. The homecare service helps individuals and their carers manage more effectively at home.

Daycare at Bankfoot runs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week and at the Tryst Pitlochry on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week.

CrossReach was launched in June 2005 and was previously known as the Church of Scotland Board of Social Responsibility. Under our new name, CrossReach continues the Church of Scotland’s long tradition of providing care and support. In fact, this work started back in 1869, so we have a long history in the field of social care.
